Kids grow up too fast, which is why as a parent you can never have too many pictures of your kids no matter their stage of life (OK--you can maybe skip some of those awkward early teenage years, but you know what I mean).
With my family sessions, the focus is on the relationship: where the children are with respect to their parents and each other in the phase of life they're in. But recognizing that photographing kids can be an exercise in patience, I always ensure that we have a blast while doing any shooting--complete with weird accents/voices, games, and sweet incentives (I'm not above bribing little minions with candy to get the perfect shots...).
